DO SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS and /or Travelers Checks?
No, the use of credit cards is not yet common in Latvia. Yes, larger restaurants, grocery stores and shops in Riga do accept credit cards. We do recommend that you be careful as there have been reported cases of credit card fraud. Travelers checks are only accepted by banks and subject to a 4% service charge and their available operating hours.
