Do SHBT students get a masters degree on the way to their PhD?
Master’s degrees are not required in SHBT, and HST does not typically grant master’s degrees to its students. However, it is possible for SHBT students to earn a master’s degree in a related field (e.g., electrical engineering). If you are interested in this option, you must make arrangements directly with the appropriate department. In most cases, the coursework and research required for the master’s degree can also be used to satisfy requirements towards the SHBT degree.
