ABTA are the regulatory body for British Travel Agents and tour operators and we would always recommend that anyone that books a trip should book it through an ABTA regulated agent or tour operator. If a trip is booked with someone who is not registered with ABTA then the school do run the risk that if a company folds they would have no chance of recovering any monies paid. The financial failure of a tour operator is not covered under the travel policy and this is not something that insurers are able to provide.
