Do Sat Navs provide any form of traffic information?
Live traffic news updates keep you aware of accidents, road works and congestion. TomTom’s HD range Sat Nav units include built-in Vodafone SIM cards, and use a subscription-based service to get live traffic information. Garmin have a system that uses traffic sensors located along all major routes to collect data and send it to the device. Some Sat Navs can connect to a mobile phone via a Bluetooth connection (phone must be able to access the Internet) or can use an RDS-TMC adapter lead connected to the car radio to receive traffic updates.
