Do salt lamps generate Negative Ions if they are not turned on?
Researchers have discovered that if there is little or no moisture in the air, Salt Crystals are largely ineffective at producing Negative Ions. However, areas such as the outdoors, bathrooms and spas have too much humidity and the salt crystals dissolve rapidly when exposed to high humidity levels above 60 percent. Salt Crystal Lamps will last indefinitely as long as they are not exposed to excessive moisture. Researchers also discovered that when a salt crystal is heated slightly, it will generate Negative Ions. In order to facilitate this, a small light bulb is placed inside a salt crystal – creating our unique Salt Crystal Lamps. Therefore, it is important to remember that a Salt Crystal Lamp will only generate Negative Ions when it is warmed by the internal light bulb. We recommend that you leave the light on 24 hours a day for maximum benefits.
