I don’t know about the rock band 2 instruments, but I have rock band 1 and I bought guitar hero metallica and the intruments work just fine with it.

They should. My Rock Band 1 instruments work with Guitar Hero World Tour. I don’t see why they wouldn’t work with GH Metallica. I’ve seen Youtube videos of GH Metallica and the songs being played by Rock Band instruments. I think its probably better to get a World Tour drum kit though and buy an extra pedal for Expert Plus. Most likely, all Rock Band instruments should work.
