Do residents have the opportunity to take on leadership roles during residency?
Our fourth year residents serve as “chiefs” and take an active leadership role in the residency. The chiefs direct our monthly noon conference where our residents present on topics related to inter-disciplinary nature of the medicine-pediatrics. Each fourth resident under takes a small educational or organizational project during his/her last year. The goal of this experience is both to strengthen the residency educational program and to prepare our residents to assume leadership roles in a variety of settings.
