Do residential contracts have to be recorded in the local register?
In 2010, my attorneys have indicated that Mexico is trying to gather a data base of tenants and landlords for multiple reasons. This infrastructure to accumulate this information is not in place at the time of this writing. So yes, tenant and landlords are to provide the information, but there is no budget in place yet to establish this.
