Do Realtors expect free home inspection consultations/work?

0

An edited email from another home inspector: Realtor: Can you please have the inspector meet my seller at property on Wednesday? He is coming in from Oregon and will be there late morning with his repair people and wants inspector there for clarification so that everything is explained properly. I’m thinking that around 11:00 would be just about right. Inspector: have spoken with XXXX regarding your request. His calendar is completely booked for this week. However, if you would like to schedule an appointment for sometime next week, we would first need to obtain the buyer’s approval to meet with the seller, and XXXX’s fee for meeting with the seller would be $250.00. Realtor: Seller is flying in from out of state and only has short window of opportunity to make sure his workers understand everything. I have been using (other guy) and has met with people after the initial inspection for a consultation such as this one and never charged a dime. I don’t understand.
