Do push ups and weight training alone burn fats or do they only build muscles?
Just like aerobic exercise anaerobic exercise increases your energy expenditure and therefore could aid in fat loss. However it will also increase your appetite so you would need to be sure your training routine is coupled with a healthy controlled diet with an adequate intake of protein (to aid muscles recovery and growth). You could definately lose fat this way but to maximise fat loss adding cardio to your rountine would be beneficial. I really recommend a book by Anita Bean called – The Complete Guide to Strength Training. It has loads of info about how to gain muscle and lose fat, with programmes you can follow.
