Do puppys from pet shops and bybs deserve a good life ?(opinions please)?
Yes, they do. But there are many other problems. Pet shop puppies ALL come from puppymills, regardless of what anyone says. They will use fancy terms like “hobby breeders” but they are all puppymills. No good breeder, even a hobby breeder, would allow their pups to go to anyone with a credit card or cash without even meeting them. What happens when the BYBer or Puppymiller can’t sell all their puppies? They don’t just spend the extra money it takes to keep them around. Some are killed, some are dumped and some end up in shelters. What happens when they sell their puppies? They make more. Anytime you support a puppymill by buying from a pet shop, not only are you giving them profit, you are directly supporting their operation. Do you know what their operations are like? They keep the dogs in small cages that are rarely cleaned. They live in their own filth. And they have litter after litter until they can’t or become sick. Then they are disgarded.
