Do propane grills use liquid propane or gas?

0

The question is a little confusing because most people think of gas as being natural gas or gasoline. The fact is, propane grills are connected to a tank that contains liquid propane but only the propane vapors that occupy the top portion of the tank are used by the grill. As the propane vapors are drawn off through the pressure regulator and burned in the grill, more liquid propane vaporizes to replace the vapors that are removed. This process continues until you shut off the grill burner. So the stuff burned in the propane grill is a gas or vapor and not a liquid. It is only liquid as it is stored in the propane tank.
