“Classic” PowerKey and PowerKey Pro Model 200 include AC surge protection in the form of MOV Transient Suppressors. PowerKey Pro Model 600 and Model 650 do not have any built-in AC surge protection, so that they can be plugged into an uninterruptible power supply. All PowerKey products have 15 amp circuit breakers, which are designed to trip, disabling power to the outlets, if the total load of all devices plugged into the PowerKey exceeds 15 amps.
