Wow. Jeligula can speak for “most” police officers. That’s pretty amazing. Had some prior contact with police, have you? Well, I was a law enforcement officer and supervisor for almost twenty-five years prior to my recent retirement and even I didn’t know “most” police officers. My experience was that, like every other profession you can name (doctors, lawyers, judges, teachers, priests, etc), there were some who weren’t as cut out for the job as others, or who were attracted to the job for the wrong reasons, and who maybe were better suited for other work. It’s certainly not for everyone, and those not suited for it typically get weeded out in the selection process or early in their careers. There are also a few who bring discredit to the profession, unfortunately, and no one hates seeing and hearing about that more than other police officers.
