Do Platypus Lay Eggs?
Yes, the platypus lays eggs, but in spite of this is an air breathing, aquatic mammal. Without a doubt one of the world’s most interesting creatures. It’s a mammal despite it’s duckbill and web feet because it is in no way related to the bird or lizard family. A bird has no stomach. It has one area for the evacuation of waste and the laying of eggs. The platypus has a stomach. All of the bird family have gizzards ,which is a substitute for a stomach in the bird family. The platypus, both male and female have a fully developed set of genitals and are required to find suitable mates to procreate with. On the other hand, all it takes is a strong alpha male rooster to dominate and mate with his personal harem of chickens. Mad Max, my rooster had a harem of 55 laying hens. Hope this helps.
