Do Pipers Farm use any additives in their products?
All of the ingredients that we use to make all of our Sausages, Burgers, Ready Casseroles and Cooked Meals are exactly the same as you would use at home. For example, salt, pepper, fresh herbs, freshly ground spices and sometimes good wine! When we cure our Bacon and Hams we use a traditional brine solution which has a small amount of Salt-Petre in it. This is a mixture of Potassium Nitrate and Sodium Nitrite. Very importantly though this is in very small amounts and there are absolutely none of the other chemicals which are so often used in industrial bacon production.
