Do pink and yellow tomatos have the same nutritional value as red tomatoes?
Answer Hello Jeffery! Thank you for your nutrition question. Red tomatoes would be a healthier choice then the pink and yellow because they contain more lycopene. Lycopene has been shown to protect men from prostate cancer. In fact, a scientific report from Harvard School of Public Health suggested that men who ate 10 or more servings per week of tomato products, including red tomatoes, tomato sauce and pizza sauce are up to 34 per cent less likely to develop prostate cancer (3). This study monitored dietary habits and the incidence rate of prostate cancer in 48,000 men for four years and assessed over 46 different fruits and vegetables and related products on the basis of their consumption frequency. Hope this helps.
