Do pesticides stay on the lawn after it rains?
As someone else said, it depends on the pesticide. Some break down more quickly than others, and some are broken down better within the soil and some within the water, and some by the sun. It all depends! Some pesticides also cling to the soil very tightly and so aren’t as available (theoretically) to harm you. Some pesticides are more water soluble and may wash off depending on how saturated the soil already was. It’s SO hard to tell with pesticides and you really have to know what pesticide (and knowing the formulation helps too) you’re dealing with… I hate to say it too, but there are too many “what-ifs” in this situation to give you a good specific answer. We’d need the pesticide name (and formulation such as granules, spray, etc), the amount of time between when the pesticide was applied, what the pesticide was applied to (grass, cement, bare dirt), how many times its rained or general weather (has it been really sunny, rainy, cloudy…?)… It’s like diagnosing something, you n
