Do personnel salute officers from other services?
Yes. All service members render salutes to officers. Enlisted salute all officers. Officers salute higher ranking officers and return salutes of lower ranking officers and enlisted personnel. EDIT: There are times when you salute officers indoors. One specific time is when you are reporting to a commander in his/her office. You hold your cover in your left hand and render a salute with your right hand. You might also salute indoors when reporting to boards. At one time, you also saluted indoors when receiving your pay. Since the military has direct deposit, this is not usually done. Also, NCOs will salute each other when reporting duty status at formations.
