Do people with one eye have poor depth perception?
I lost my eye when I was 12. The bad news is that you lose binocular depth perception. The good news it that binocular depth perception only works over distances less than 20 feet or so. This is not too bad. For example, for driving I have no peripheral vision on my left, so I have to be careful about cares to the left of me, but is has no practical effect on how I perceive cars and the road. Close up I make errors. The most common problem is that I tend to pour liquids like hot water in front ot of behind the cup. You can use cues and tricks to solve these problems, like putting a finger on the cup to check what plane it is in, or using your fingers so that they touch when threading a needle. Having one eye is hardly any problem for me at all, except socially, since I look a little different. I hope this helps.
