These scammers pretend to be in the UK but are actually in Africa. Soon you will get some sort of request for money – either your ‘friend’ has been in a serious accident and needs money for emergency medical treatment, or asks for you to help pay for a passport/visa, or says they lost their job and need you to loan them money to pay their phone and internet bills, etc. If he asks for any money, cut off all contact. This scam is much more common than you think
