I don’t think its necessarily bad luck… but, I think it is better to wait to see the wedding dress the day of the wedding. It is like tradition and a surprise.

Certainly some people still believe this tradition! Then there are more modern couples who don’t. Personally, I don’t think the groom should see the dress until the bride walks down the aisle. The anticipation is amazing!
