Do people speak English in Sanrio Harmony Land or Sanrio Puroland in Japan?
Having a basic understanding of the language is the safest bet, although Japan is not completely English deficient. Most signs on the streets and in train stations have the name written phonetically in the English alphabet. If you happen to be in a restaurant even if the menu doesn’t have English, you can look at the pictures or ask a server for help. More often that not, you will run into a Japanese person with a rudimentary understanding of English with whom you can communicate with via hand gestures and broken mix of Japanese and English. So, if you insist non going to Japan as you are now, you will survive and if you have an open mind you may even enjoy the experience of getting past the language barrier. But if you are looking for your trip to be fun and easy, you may want to consider taking classes.
