Do people mean what they say when on ecstasy pills?
In my experience, I have always meant what I said while on MDMA (the active ingredient in ‘Ecstasy’). Most people who take MDMA report that it causes them to share feelings with those around them more readily. Mind you, this is not the drug’s only effect; it also intensifies the feelings of sociability one feels towards those around them. That is to say, you may tell an acquaintance that you ‘love’ them – and truly mean it – but your feelings may have not been quite as strong were it not for the effects of the MDMA. The good news is that intense emotions that are felt under the influence often last long after the drug has worn off.
