Do people living far from the rainforest, help to destroy it?
We all do, indirectly. From what I understand, the locals chop down the rainforest to make charcoal with the burnt trees, and the charcoal is used to melt metal in industry, and we all use products that have some type of metal in it, from cars to computers to everything. I saw that on National Geographic.
