Do people from Great Britain suffer much racist abuse or prejudice in New York specifically?

Perhaps I have a very jaded view of Great Britain/America. Aren’t the majority of both white? I highly doubt people from Great Britain are experiencing racial prejudice and if they are, unfortunately, they aren’t they only ones. There is racial prejudice by Americans against Americans. New Yorkers in general have the connotation of being unfriendly. I can’t imagine where this rumor was born. New Yorkers are in a rush and don’t have time for nonsense, but I think people will find that people are just rude wherever you go.

We New Yorkers (and Americans as a whole) have a very positive perception of the British. Esquire just exaggerates/makes things up to sell itself. If there is ANY truth to the article, it’s that increasing global negativity towards the U.S. caused a few wankers in a New York bar to bad mouth Americans… and they got a good beating for it. People in NYC will not even notice/comment on the fact that your British. People outside the city will most likely be fascinated by you and want to get to know you. Most Americans are isolated from foreigners and are eager to strike up conversation with them (being the outgoing people we are).
