Do people from Brazil and Portugal consider themselves Latin?

0

Everyone’s favorite reference source, Wikipedia, notes that “Latin peoples and cultures are related, in some way, to the language or culture of the ancient Latin-speaking population of Italy. More exact definitions present difficulties, and as a result no definitive list of Latin cultures can be produced.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_cultures However, Portugal seems to be almost universally accepted as a Latin culture (see above reference for one example), and Brazil likewise seems almost universally counted as a Latin American culture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_America So much for the academic answer — it would be interesting to hear directly from a Brazilian or Portuguese citizen to get their perspective.
