The breed on the whole is a happy go lucky outgoing breed. A Papillon that exhibits signs of growling, snapping, or fear is not a normal breed temperament characteristic. Usually a Pap that shows signs of bad temperaments have not been sufficiently socialized or at some point were mistreated.
