Do Older Ferrets Do OK When Adopted?

0

Q: I am interested in buying a couple ferrets, a female that is 16 months old and a male that is 9 months old. Is it OK to buy these ferrets and bring them to new owners and a new home at this age? I have heard that ferrets don’t deal well with losing their owner. A: In my own experience ferrets in this situation do just fine. You can expect a little uncertainty in the new home and the ferrets may test things out a little, but they should do just fine. My husband and I have adopted ferrets more than 5 years of age, and they settled in with no problems. I am sure the ferrets would appreciate a little extra attention from you and maybe some extra playtime.
