Do non-Wiccan Witches follow the Rede or believe in the threefold law?
Non-Wiccan witches certainly do not follow those two. The Wiccan Rede was written by the religion’s founders earlier in this century. Witchcraft roots much deeper than that. Traditional Witches instead believe in intent of their actions. For every action, there is a reaction, be it good or bad, black or white, loving or hateful. Witches believe that in order to heal, you have to harm. If you are lost in the woods and you fall and cut yourself, will you be hurting a yarrow plant you have plucked to stop your bleeding? Will a forest fire be harming all the fallen and half-dead trees in and a few unfortunate animals it in order to re-grow itself and get rid of pests and unwanted guests so it can thrive once again, this time more luscious, green, and a possible home to many more creatures in need of a shelter?
