Do non-profit organisations such as foundations and trusts also impose obligations on the University in respect of intellectual property?
They may well do. Normally this would be defined by the contract that such organisations might have with the University. In some cases there may be no obligations placed upon the University in respect of intellectual property. In these situations if the creator of the intellectual property is a student, they would be expected to have the rights to any IP created.
