Do new schools mean new buildings? Where will the Renaissance 2010 schools be housed?

Renaissance 2010 is a new school initiative, not a new building initiative. With rare exceptions, CPS will not be building new buildings for these new schools. The vast majority will be housed in existing CPS buildings, which CPS will designate for this process. CPS will publicly announce the availability of certain buildings through the RFP process and in other ways. Many new schools will share buildings. Design teams may also identify and propose other buildings for their use under this initiative, such as former private or parochial school buildings.
