Do new faces change the political climate?
Out-of-state migrants can affect the political climate in Montana. These migrants are more likely to vote Republican than other Montanans who are equally divided in their party allegiance. However, more migrants are willing to accept a liberal tag than most Montanans who usually hold moderate or conservative views. In-state and out-of-state migrants are slightly more optimistic about their economic positions and the state’s economic future than other Montanans.
