Kay – Neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils have nuclei. Platelets do not. Platelets are granular fragments of the cytoplasm which break off from nucleated cells called megakaryocytes, normally found only in the bone marrow. Normal platelets are essential for the blood to properly form clots.
