Do neutron stars explode?
It appears that this may be possible. There is a fairly new theory stating that some neutron stars may quickly collapse into an even more dense form called a quark star. This collapse would cause an even bigger explosion than the one that created the neutron star. http://astronomynow.com/080604Secondsupernovaepointtoquarkstars.html http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn12514 Thanks to yeroca for his mention of quark stars which caused by to look into this a bit more.
