Do Nestlé GOOD START liquid infant formulas contain BPA?
The epoxy lining of metal cans used for our liquid infant formula products, including concentrated and ready-to-feed, helps protect their nutrient levels and keep them safe from contamination. Leading authorities, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have stated that trace (extremely small) amounts of BPA in the epoxy lining are well below the levels that could cause any harm to infant or child health. In addition, the Acting U.S. Surgeon General, Rear Admiral Steven K. Galson, M.D., M..P.H. stated, “The most important thing parents can do for their babies is ensure that they receive adequate nutrition. While the best source of nutrition for babies is the mother’s breast milk, infant formula remains the recommended alternative when breast milk is not an option.” Because we understand that some parents are concerned, we are aggressively investigating BPA-free packaging alternatives for our infant liquid formula products.
