Do neon tetra fish need a heated tank and what kind?
Yes, they need a tropical tank with filter, heater and light. 78 degrees is optimal for most tropical fish. I had several neon tetras for years, they are mellow and easy to care for but tend to die if you do not take good care of the ph and parasites. Other breeds are hardier, but they can do fine with not too much fuss. I don’t suggest any tanks smaller than 10 gallons.
