Do natural health products have reactions with drugs?
Possibly. We like to think the other way around, however. The question should be “do drugs have reactions with the natural things that I eat or supplement with”? Natural products are exactly that – natural products. They are normally herbs, vitamins, minerals that are found in everyday home-grown food. Our bodies were built to recognize and metabolize natural elements. However, when we throw drugs and medications into the picture, these can cause severe side effects. Most pharmaceutical companies or doctors don’t even consider how their drugs will react with natural products – their focus is on a certain ailment, pain, or illness and how the drug will relieve (not cure) it. If you have questions about reactions between natural products and medications, it is best to ask BOTH sides of the profession. Talk to a doctor that is open-minded to natural healing and has a basic understanding of natural products, as well talk with a reputable Naturopathic Doctor in your area who has experience
