Do nationwide offer a good exchange rate when withdrawing money abroad?

Yes. You get the normal bank exchange rate AND they don’t charge commision.

If you use either a credit or debit card abroad the card company(or bank or building society) can add up to 2.5% onto the exchange rate. This is how they make money on foreign transactions. Contact Nationwide and ask them what they charge Exchange rates change by the hour, so you wont know until you get back, as the rate they use will be the rate on the day they process the particular transaction DAVID…BELOW…They get their commission from the loading of the exchange rate…I am a manager for the UK’s major credit card, so I know my stuff!
