Do my western clothes offend the local muslims?
I can understand why you are worried, because I wouldn’t want to offend anyone either, but this is just the culture here in England and people have to accept that – we can’t change the way we dress because we are worried someone might get offended. Dressing in shorts and vest tops is normal here, especially with how hot it has been lately, so it is unreasonable for people to get offended by it. Don’t sacrifice your own culture for someone else’s. I hope this answer doesn’t come across as racist – it does not both me if people wear the hijab and other clothes of their culture. I’m just saying that I’m not gonna change how I dress because how I dress is part of my western culture. Like everyone else has said: you are in England, not the middle east. I think you are over thinking this, wear what you want to and get talking to people whilst in the park to try and make friends.
