Do Mountain Metro bus drivers have any input regarding route planning?
No. Bus drivers for all MMT services – including Mountain Metro fixed-route, Metro Mobility ADA paratransit, FrontRange Express (FREX), and Ute Pass Express – are actually employees of service providers contracted by the City of Colorado Springs. They are not City employees. Transit operations staff employed by the City of Colorado Springs meet routinely with service providers regarding bus routes and service recommendations. City transit planners also ride MMT services frequently to collect input from passengers as well as drivers when considering changes to improve service.
