Do most fatal and injury related accidents in the city happen in intersections with street lights?
The data available does not indicate whether or not the intersection where a fatal collision occurred was illuminated or not…Virtually all controlled (with traffic lights) intersections have street lighting as well…I would agree that most fatal mishaps occur within 4 seconds of the traffic light changing, but like you say, nobody really knows for sure…The participants in the event are either too injured to care or deceased Click on the link under: Full 2006 Annual Assessment Report and STSI Updates Released per the web site shown below.
