Do Most Computer Monitors work with other computers?

Yes most monitors will work with most computers, however one thing you need to check out will be whether the new computer only has a dvi output in that case it probably will not work, you can get an adapter for it though. If you have the older big vga monitors I’d seriously give thought to getting a nice 19″ flat panel when you get your system. I personally wouldn’t go any smaller than a 19″ flat panel if you get a new one. Check out the links for more details on dvi and vga.

It depends on the output for a monitor on the computer. You can use any monitor on any computer, as long as their cables correspond. Most PC outputs are in the VGA form, if your computer has a VGA output, get a monitor with a VGA output. Then, theres the DVI output, the new high definition output for monitors. Just check the cables.

You question is very valid. Technically speaking not all monitors work with all computers properly. There is the issue of drivers( software to direct the hardware on how to behave. Your system needs to have drivers for the monitor to worker. Operating systems like XP came preloaded with some drivers but not all.
