Do most already made sandwiches, and food have same types of preservatives inside them?
Preservatives include anti-microbial substances, (to discourage the growth of mold and bacteria) and antioxidants, which prevent fats from going rancid. Some are sodium based, like sodium bisulfite and sodium nitrite. Preservatives are likely to be present in processed foods. Ready made sandwiches probably have chemical preservatives in the bread, (likely calcium propionate) condiments may have calcium disodium, and aged meats will have nitrates. Salt is a mineral composed mostly of sodium and chloride (NaCl). It regulates fluid in the body, prevents food spoilage and adds flavor. The only spaghetti sauce I have handy is Paul Newman’s, and it’s preservative free. Many people are sensitive to preservatives, and they may suffer from headaches, fatigue, and allergy symptoms. They also hinder digestion. This is one reason many doctors, when attempting to diagnose an ailment, will advise elimination of all processed foods.
