Since Charles brought it up I will just add this on the nature of the conception of Jesus. The Bible says that the Spirit of the Lord would over shadow her. Just what that means I don’t know. However, in the Book of Mormon the prophet Nephi sees this seminal event in a vision. He is first shown Mary and describes her as a virgin of great beauty. Then she is hidden from him and when he sees her again, Mary is holding the baby Jesus in her arms. One commentator on this passage said that this lack of description of the actual mechanism by which Mary became impregnated indicated that it was not important. I agree with this point of view. How the Father impregnated Mary is not important. All we need to know is that He did and that out of that act came the mortal incarnation of the Messiah, our Lord and Savior.
