A Mommy’s Helper does not treat postpartum depression. However, they will help by creating a safe place for the mother emotionally. A Mommy’s Helper services are designed to help prevent the onset of Postpartum Depression. The Mommy’s Helper is there to relieve some of the pressure a new mother feels as she moves into her new responsibilities of parenting. By mothering the mother, a Mommy’s Helper makes sure that the mother feels nurtured and cared for. A Mommy’s Helper is trained to identify warning signs of the onset of postpartum depression so she can alert family members so the family can seek outside assistance.
