Do MoldTech 42 & 88 work the same as a wetting agent?
No. MoldTech works with the bentonite clay to improve overall green sand performance characteristics while wetting agents only act to lower the surface tension of the water to provide a “wetter” water without providing any long term improvement in clay properties. MoldTech works at the molecular level to improve the bonding characteristics of the clay platelets to provide improvement in the overall sand, clay and water mixture performance properties.
