I suppose there are times when wanting women to “shut up” would be every man’s “want and wish” (LOL) But there is one of the scriptures often misused or misunderstood. And not always by people with a selfish or evil motive, but by honest, loving people who are sincerely trying to do the right thing to please God, but are just mistaught about the verses. Just a couple chapters before, in 1 Corinthians 11:5, Paul says that a woman can pray or prophecy if her head is covered. So it appears that 1 Cor 14:34-35 is not a blanket instruction that women are to never speaking in the church. Rather in the same chapter Paul states that when the come together everyone (including the women) are permitted to give a psalms, a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation or an interpretation. So again, his instructions in 34-35 can not be a end-of statement that women can not speak in the church. Rather Paul list several different situations in which different people are to be silent in the church. If they speak
