Do men believe their mothers (and women in general) once had penises and have been castrated?
Lisa “butter your mother” S. says: I’m reading Freud for a class, and I’m so confused. He surmises that all boys assume their mothers have a penis. When they find out that they don’t, they assume it’s been taken from them (potentially by the father). When men look at a woman’s pelvis, they are frightened and scared. This is why some men choose to be gay, because they would rather be with fully endowed men than reflect on their own possibe castration by involving themselves with penis-less women. This is another reason why men have fetishes. They like underwear (etc.), because it covers the penis-less area and helps them to forget that the castration has ever happened. I’m a girl, so I don’t get this. I was wondering if any guys had ideas about this.
