As for the sealife – yes, sealife has existed on Earth for much, much longer than humans. Homo sapiens has been around for about 200,000 years. We have discovered fossils of sealife dating back many hundreds of millions of years. In fact, the earliest known fossils, those of stromatolites, formed in shallow seas. These have been dated to as far back as 2.7 billion years ago with evidence that some may date to 3.5 billion years ago. Put into figures, that’s 3,500,000,000 years for sealife, 200,000 for humans.
